UK-based Ghanaian Ben Antwi revealed that he cannot work around kids anymore due to his arrest records.
In a chat on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Ben indicated that he has been tied to menial jobs until his records are cleared in ten years. Ben currently works 13 hours a day to support his wife and kids.
“The first time was on a bus. I scolded someone’s child, and her mother called the police on me. They arrested me while on the bus with my child. In all, it’s been four arrests. The last was two years ago.
My record is destroyed. It will be cleared in ten years. I’m working now, but I can’t work around kids anymore. It’s usually sleeping cleaning.”
Ben Antwi, however, mentioned that he is unperturbed and would further his education next year. He added that the UK has helped him.
Speaking on job opportunities in the UK, Ben advised African immigrants to study for better-paying jobs. He also advised them to be wary of the friends they make while in the UK.
