UK-based Ghanaian Gwen Cudjoe revealed that her husband brought her to the UK after marriage but emotionally abused her and threatened to have her deported if she refused to give him money.
Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, Gwen mentioned that her ex-husband’s attitude eventually changed after he started talking to his ex-wife. According to her husband’s ex-wife, he only married her to cater to his kids and not for love.
“He stopped talking to me and put me through emotional abuse. My husband started demanding money and threatened to throw me out or report me to the home office (immigration) if I refused.
His friend told me he had given his ex-wife £1000. I gave him £500 every month. That did not bother me, but he made it seem like he was only interested in (my) money. Sometimes, he took my card and spent all the money on it. It was not great,” she recounted.
Gwen indicated that her step-kids (born in the UK) often beat up her child. She had to leave the house after her child reported it to his teachers in school.
