Mavis Fosu, a Ghanaian lady based in Germany stated that her ex-husband brought her to Europe but he used her to his advantage.
Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Mavis revealed her ex-husband was reluctant to enlighten her about the German system to help her settle properly and used that to his convenience.
“He got a car in my name after I arrived in Germany. Meanwhile, he didn’t even have a driver’s license. Then he took my passport to the bank and took out my money. A friend introduced him to me. He lived abroad, so we spoke for six months.
I didn’t know him completely. I met him for the first time one week before our marriage That was my mistake. At a point in our marriage, I couldn’t even smile at home because he didn’t like it. He sometimes called me mad for laughing,” she said.
Madam Fosu advised Ghanaians abroad to find a genuine reason if they ever plan on filing for their partners to join them. She mentioned that many sponsor their partners’ trips to Europe to turn them into slaves.
“I’m begging you to know the reason behind bringing your partner to Europe. Don’t bother bringing them if you plan to cheat them because they will leave when they learn how things work. That’s the mistake many Ghanaians make.”
