Theresa Amofa, a Ghanaian living in the UK, revealed that her previous marriage was the worst mistake she ever made in her life, and she shared the story on SVTV AFRICA.

According to Theresa, her ex-husband only married her because he could become a citizen of the United States of America and not because he loved her. She disclosed that her ex-husband cheated, verbally abused her, lied, and eventually packed out of the house after he got his green card.

“I am a foster parent, so I have kids in my care. My ex was accused by one of my kids’ neighbors that he sexually abused her. That happened two months after he arrived. He told me I had planned to destroy his life because I agreed to house those kids. Meanwhile, he knew about them even before he left Ghana, and he never complained.

Not only did I file for him to join me here, but I worked extra hours to get him a car before he came. Eventually, paying for the car insurance became an issue. He didn’t pay rent or bills or buy food for the house. I realized a change in his behavior three weeks after he arrived, but I didn’t think much of it,” she said.

In a Daily Hustle Worldwide interview with DJ Nyaami, Madam Theresa mentioned they had been married for three years before their divorce. Speaking on the separation and divorce, Madam Theresa indicated that her ex-husband left the house a week after she confronted him about his cheating.

“He returned after a few days but left for good when he received his green card. He packed out without telling me where he was going. I heard from him five days later. He told me he was with his family in another state and told me not to look for him again,” Theresa added.
