Mr Adu Agyei, a Ghanaian based in Switzerland, stated that he became depressed after his uncle in Ghana duped him.
In a Daily Hustle Worldwide interview, Mr. Agyei revealed that he lost his GH₵109K accountant job because he became depressed and sometimes burst into laughter but could not tell his boss why.
He could not overcome the stress and depression and willingly quit the job. According to Mr Agyei, he gave his uncle $3000 to buy land and a tipper truck to work with, but he mismanaged the business and sponsored his son to the UK.
“My uncle told me about land, and I sent him $3000 to buy the land. Then I left my truck with him to work, so he could use the proceeds to build the house. His son managed the business and traveled abroad with the money. I took it from him and gave it to my brother, but he also used the proceeds to sponsor his education.
It made me depressed. I worked as an accountant and earned 8,500 Swiss francs (GH₵109,000), but I woke up one day and quit. I almost went crazy. I would just burst into laughter at work, but I couldn’t explain to my boss,” he told DJ Nyaami on SVTV AFRICA.
Mr. Adu Agyei shared more about how dishonest his family members were to him. and advised Ghanaians to be wary of whom to trust.
