British-Ghanaian Nana Kwasi Agyeman, based in London, stated that churches are unnecessary because they have become a barrier to Africa’s development.
Mr. Agyeman mentioned that Africans knew of God’s existence before the colonisers introduced the Bible. In an SVTV AFRICA interview, Nana Kwasi disclosed that he quit church ten years ago.
“Churches are unnecessary. All the churches you see here are needless. You attend church, and so what? It is sad. I believe in God, and Africans knew God before Jesus was born. We have everything in Africa.
The whites used their way of worshipping God to deceive us. We are suffering because of religion. Pastors in Africa put a price on prayers. It is sad. I haven’t been to church in ten years. Where is the sense it that (attending church),” he quizzed.
Mr Agyeman added that Ghana has all the resources it needs to develop. However, Africans have “allowed themselves to be used. The whites do not want Blacks here anymore, but they can’t openly say it. As Africans, we don’t love ourselves enough.”
