Rosina Sarkodie, a UK-based Ghanaian, stated that the only challenge she faces is the constant pressure from family and friends abroad for financial support.
In an SVTV AFRICA interview, Odorose, as she is affectionately called, disclosed that she has seized communication with most of her friends and family because she cannot cater to their demands.
Speaking about her challenges in the UK, Odorose indicated that she is grateful for the opportunity to work and would never complain about the system or life there.
“I don’t see what Ghanaians here mean when they say life abroad is tough. Apart from having to wake up at dawn, I don’t get what they mean. Family and friends back home also give us stress. I don’t speak to many friends because they think we intentionally ignore their money requests.
Some of us live paycheck to paycheck, but you may have GHS1000 saved. So we find it hard to talk to them because they may ask for money we don’t have. We have our problems, but they only call to ask for money,” she told DJ Nyaami.
According to Rosina, many Ghanaians who travel to the UK become stingy automatically because of the hefty taxes and bills they pay.
