Eugenia Maud Martin, a UK-based Ghanaian, revealed that she broke up with her boyfriend before travelling to the UK but did not disclose it to her boyfriend until she arrived in the UK.
In an interview on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Maud indicated that she was in a serious relationship while in Ghana but had no plans of continuing the relationship as a long-distance one.
“He escorted me to the airport, and I cried just before I boarded the plane. He thought it was because I was leaving, but he didn’t know it was because that was our end.
That was the end of our relationship. I was going on a journey of no return to him, and I was not going to miss him,” she recounted.
More on the Daily Hustle Worldwide, Maud mentioned that she eventually married her childhood boyfriend and brought him to the UK. Unfortunately, Maud lost her husband a few years ago.
In response to whether she plans on dating again, Maud said, ”I don’t plan on getting married again because it is stressful, especially if the man lives in Ghana. After all, the systems are different. By the time he integrates into the system, the marriage might have collapsed.”
