Isabella Korankye, a former National Lottery Authority worker, disclosed that she built a three-bedroom house from intermittent lottery wins.
Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, the Australia-based Ghanaian indicated that she did not stake with her money. The lotto agents gave her lotto tickets whenever they came by the office for the lotto books. Isabella said she was able to build a house before she resigned.
“The agents liked me because I was kind to them. Whenever they came for their return, I took my share of the money even before I gave them their returns. Some agents also gave me tips. I built a three-bedroom house before I retired.”
Isabella travelled to Australia to join her husband after years of marriage. Isabella’s husband travelled abroad to study after their marriage. According to Mrs Korankye, her friends advised her to divorce her husband because he may find another woman in Sweden (where he studied).
“They laughed at me whenever I visited my hometown. They said a PhD holder would not stay with a vocational trainer. Meanwhile, we were married with a child. They polluted my mind so much that I called my husband and told him to let me know if he plans on marrying another woman,” she recounted.
Isabella Korankye shared more on life in Australia and gave a piece of advice to young Ghanaians who wish to travel.
