Sweden-based Ghanaian Regina Hovda disclosed that her ex-boyfriend blackmailed her with a nude video of her and eventually shared it for refusing to sign over her house to him.
In an interview on SVTV AFRICA, Madam Regina indicated that they decided to buy a house together, and she paid 80% of the downpayment while he paid 20%. However, after their breakup, her ex gave her documents to sign to hand over the house to her.
After Regina refused, he took a video of her bathing and blackmailed her. “He gave me some documents to sign, but I couldn’t understand because it was in Swedish. So I sent it to my lawyer, and he said if I signed, he would sell the house and give me a part of the money. He recorded a video of me bathing and sent it to Ghanaians in the area.
We took the case to court, and the judge said I should have signed an agreement to prove how much we both paid. He knew the law, but he came with a purpose. The court ordered us to sell the house and give him half. The house was worth 1.75 million Swedish Krona,” she recounted.
While waiting for the sale of the house, Regina’s ex-boyfriend had her arrested and eventually detained for over a month for arson while pregnant.
“He claimed I burned the house because I didn’t want to give him his share of the money after the sale. After the investigation, I was found innocent and released. He had locked the house when I got back. Later, the government compensated me for the false accusation,” she added.
