Mabel Appiah Minkah based in the Netherlands stated that she only picks a partner/husband who is diligent.

In a chat on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Mabel, a divorcée shared her experience and revealed that she did not choose her partner based on emotions but a man she can build a life with. She said they dated for about a year before marriage, but she ignored all the red flags and accepted to marry him.

“He was hardworking and very calm. I don’t choose a partner based on emotions. I looked for what the person could offer me but realised he was different after our marriage. He would bring a car home without discussing it with me first. I was young when we met; he was ten years older than me. So I ignored many things,” she recounted.

Miss Appiah Minkah was married to a Cameroonian man. They were married for about eight years until their divorce. She disclosed that “their culture is very different from ours. They don’t have that respect for wives like we do. I tried to talk to him, but it was like noise to his ears.”

Moreover, Mabel mentioned that her mother warned her against the marriage because he (ex-husband) didn’t have a stay permit. Mabel was, however, unconcerned about his status because she believed they could build a life together.
