Germany-based Ghanaian Mr. Appiah Donkor advised that the best age to travel is between 20 and 40 years if they travel without documents.
Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Mr Appiah indicated that many people who travel abroad without documents (working or stay permits) take years to get it. In this case, it might be tough for middle-aged people.
“This is my advice; the best age to travel is 20 years to 40 years. If you are above 45 years old, I won’t advise you to travel. Even if you came through marriage, you have to work. So starting a business in Ghana would be better than travelling abroad.
If you are 45 and get your documents at 50, your knees may have started hurting already. You’d have to start life afresh and work 10 hours to survive. So if you want to travel, leave early,” he said.
Moreover, Mr Appiah shared more about life in Germany. He added that his Schengen visa in a day because of his skills.
According to Mr Appiah, he worked as a Mining Engineer in Ghana and earned about $1500 with free accommodation and a car. He advised the youth to learn a skill if they want to work abroad.
