France-based Ghanaian Ali Fofana revealed that he was imprisoned for years for selling hard drugs and exporting stolen cars from Italy.
In an interview on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Ali disclosed that he started selling cocaine to support his Italian wife. Ali’s in-laws were not in support of their relationship, and Ali wanted to prove that he was capable of taking care of her.
“It was pressure. I wanted to take my wife out of pain. I started selling cocaine and later moved into importing stolen cars to Ghana. My mom heard about it and said she’d abandon me if I gave her the cocaine money. So I wasted it on women and enjoyment.
There is nothing illegal that I haven’t done in Italy. Police stopped me every time they saw me in traffic, and they never believed I was Ghanaian. I spent two years in prison the second time, and my friend sold everything in my room,” he recounted.
Fofana mentioned that he was constantly in jail for several years and barely stayed out for a year. Ali added that he found Allah while in prison and quit smoking. Ali was released from jail as a born-again.
“One month after I was released, I was arrested again for a stolen car. My friends and I were going to Amsterdam to deliver cars and drugs, but we met the police at the France border. I sacrificed myself for them to escape. I was jailed for 11 months in France,” he added.
