Qatar-based Ghanaian Nana Kwame revealed that a church elder convinced him to return to Ghana after he got a UK Army appointment, but he never heard from him again.
In a chat on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Nana Kwame mentioned that he applied for the UK army but on a visitor’s visa and needed some supporting documents after he was appointed. The church advised and promised to help him get these documents if he returned to Ghana, but he never heard from the elder again.
“When I heard that I could apply for the army with a visitor’s visa, I had already spent two in the UK, but I tried. I got my first appointment and was waiting for the phase one training. I spoke to one of the elders in the church I attended because he was also in the army.
I had to overstay or return to Ghana to renew my visa. He convinced me to return and said he would give me some supporting documents from the church to make it easy. I didn’t listen to anyone else but him because he was in the field. I called him several times, but he never answered,” he said.
Nana Kwame still had travel plans and paid for a job offer to Qatar during the 2022 World Cup. According to him, the workers were paid GHS4776 during the World Cup, but it was reduced to GHS1592 after. Nana Kwame added that many Ghanaians have become jobless after the World Cup.
