Italy-based Ghanaian Dorothy Brefo asserted that her mother threw her out of her house soon after she (Dorothy) arrived in Italy.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Dorothy indicated that her mother threw her out due to a misunderstanding. They were not close enough since Dorothy lived most of her childhood life with her grandmother.
“I don’t exactly what happened, but we were not close enough for me to talk to her about things that were bothering me. I wanted her to keep me close to her, but she didn’t speak to me sometimes.
At age 17, my grandmother told me my mom did not want me in her house, so I had to leave. I called a friend’s father, who came to pick me up. My mom didn’t even say a word to me when I was leaving her house. I stayed with a woman and started working,” she said.
According to Dorothy, she worked two jobs for about a year and rented her place while schooling. Dorothy added that she never spoke to or saw her mother until her stepfather called to come home at 24.
“I was depressed and angry at my mom for what she did. I agreed to see her, and we settled our differences. It’s been tough for me these past 22 years,” she added.
