US-based Ghanaian Prince Aggrey revealed he earned about $15,000 monthly as an artist while living in Ghana.
Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Prince indicated that after high school, he worked part-time as an artist and posted his art on social media. Eventually, a Black American woman found interest in his works and recommended him to other Americans.
“She wanted me to do a portrait of her, and she was pleased with the job, but I didn’t take money until after she received it. She commended me for my honesty and recommended me to others. At a point, I couldn’t handle the orders that came in. I made about $15,000 while in Ghana,” he disclosed.
Prince’s first customer advised him to come to the USA because he could achieve more as an artist there. However, Prince had no plans of making such a move.
“A year later, she came to Ghana and encouraged me to do all that’s necessary to travel. I didn’t spend one Pesewa. She did everything for me, and I got my documents a week later. This is all because I was honest with her during our transaction. After all, she had tried other artists, but they all scammed her,” Prince noted.
