US-based Ghanaian Maame Akua Birago has stated that paying $30,000 for a US visa is worth it because a hardworking person can get it back within a year.
Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Maame Birago mentioned that the job opportunities available in the USA are vast, and Ghanaians who wish to travel must pursue it because it is worth it.
The care worker said she migrated to the USA with a working permit and encouraged others to take the chance.
“It’s good to travel. Don’t let anyone lie to you. You can achieve something in the USA in two years, but it would have taken ten years in Ghana. It all depends on how you live.”
In response to whether she would advise a Ghanaian youth to pay $20,000 for an American visa, Maame Birago said, “It’s tough if you don’t have a working permit. But it is worth it, even if you pay $30,000 for a visa with a permit. You can get it back in one year if you are focused and hardworking.”
Maame Birago was a businesswoman in Ghana for 12 years before travelling to the USA. She works as a care worker but will return to Ghana to continue her business.
