Qatar-based Ghanaian Deblance Mensah revealed that a pastor/travel agent duped him off GHS35,000 and fled to the UK with his wife.
In a chat with DJ Nyaami on SVTV AFRICA, Deblance mentioned that the pastor told him about job opportunities in Israel and took GHS35,000 for the visa process. However, the pastor had other plans for the money.
“Two years after my wife died, I sold my land and house to travel to Israel. The agent was a pastor and duped me smoothly. I sold both for GHS30,000 and added GHS5000 to start the process.
He convinced me to do it, but I didn’t hear from him for five months. When I finally reached him, he had travelled to the UK with his wife. He told me that he wanted to go work to pay us back. I wasn’t the only person he duped,” he said.
According to Deblance, the agent paid some of the money after returning to Ghana but still owes him GHS2500. Deblance added that his happy ending is in the UK or Canada, and he will pursue it until he gets it.
