Brazil-based Ghanaian Kofi Agyeman stated that there aren’t many job opportunities in Ghana, unlike the Western world, due to the systems and structures they have put in place.
In an interview on SVTV Africa’s Daily Hustle Worldwide, Kofi indicated that in present times, only the rich can survive or live in Ghana due to the economic crisis. However, Europe and the West have systems put in place to support poor people. As a result, many people live in abject poverty, like in Ghana and Africa.
“The perception that you’ll succeed abroad is still there because of the systems in place, and it is true. You’ll suffer if you’re not a Despite of Kennedy’s child. But you’ll get a job here because they are available. One company alone has about 1000 employees. So there are always jobs available,” he told DJ Nyaami.
According to reports, millions of immigrants pass through Brazil to the USA for greener pastures. Despite the risks, many foreigners take up the challenge because they believe it is their only chance at survival.
Kofi mentioned that he is comfortable in Brazil with his family and would not risk their lives. He said, “That’s the last decision I’ll ever make. I’ve built a family here, and that trip is life-and-death.”
“I’d like to go to the US too, but I’ll do it the right way. The Brazilian currency may not be as valuable as the dollar, but I’ve built my family here, and I’m comfortable,” Kofi Agyeman added.
