Former Black Stars defender John Paintsil has denied claims that he caused the arrest of 64-year-old Isaac Odoom for sleeping in his house.
Speaking with SVTV Africa’s DJ Nyaami, John explained that he had no idea about the case until an acquaintance sent him a link to the story.
In a now-deleted Youtube video posted by Crime Check TV, Isaac Odoom was interviewed and recounted the incident leading up to his arrest. He disclosed that he was arrested and jailed for 12 months for trespassing at John Paintsil’s house.
However, according to John’s caretaker, Isaac slept in the house and stole his mattress. There had been several unidentified trespassers who forced their way into the house before the theft case.
“The last time I went there, I saw that the doors had been destroyed with faeces everywhere. So the caretaker had people clean it up and fixed the doors. Two months later, he called for money to fix doors again. I thought he was trying to dupe me,” he explained.
The next thing John heard about his Besease house was the Isaac-Odoom-story. A story he says he had no knowledge of.
“According to my caretaker, he bought the mattress on Monday, but by Wednesday, it was gone. He followed it up and arrested a suspect, but the suspect mentioned Isaac Odoom as the culprit. I haven’t had anyone arrested or jailed,” he added.
