Hungary-based Nigerian Song Elicious has revealed that it took him three years to settle into the country, but he wants to leave.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Elicious indicated that settling into Hungary was tough in the beginning, and seven years after, he is planning on migrating to Ireland due to high taxes.
“It’s a struggle here. It took almost three years to find my ground. It’s not just about the language because it’s the same in English-speaking countries. You need to get your ground, study the culture and understand what you’re doing there.”
Elicious mentioned that Hungary is his home now because of his Hungarian wife. However, he’d like to migrate to Ireland for work. According to him, the taxes are outrageous.
“I’m planning of relocating to Ireland. I pay almost 42%. It is too high, and even the Hungarians are complaining. Everything else is good in Hungary but the taxes. The cost of rent and living, in general, are minimal compared to other European countries. It only increased because of the Ukraine war,” he told DJ Nyaami.
