UK-based Ghanaian Nana Owusu has stated that he left Ghana for greener pastures because he realised that the system does not support or encourage the youths to grow.
Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, Nana Owusu indicated that he managed his father’s business in Ghana, but it almost collapsed due to restrictions from the government. As a result, Owusu left it behind and migrated to Manchester to hustle.
“The idea to travel only came after the restrictions. The energy commission banned a list of imported items which would ruin the business. I realised the future was bleak for the youth especially. So I decided to join my father here in the UK.”
Moreover, Nana Owusu revealed that he regrets leaving behind his football career to focus on education. According to Owusu, he believed education was the only way to succeed.
Owusu believes he could have been a great footballer if he had pursued his dreams. He added that only the rich can survive Ghana’s economy now.
