Netherlands-based former Ghanaian photographer John disclosed that he sold his work gadgets, television and sofas to travel abroad.
Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, John indicated that he had always wanted to travel abroad and tried several ways to leave. The former photographer mentioned he won the US lottery years ago, but his visa application was denied.
This only awakened his desire to travel more. John revealed that many travel agents duped him until he finally got his Italian visa approved in 2010.
“It was a one-month visa to Italy, but I had spent two weeks in Ghana. I didn’t have money for a flight ticket. I sold my cameras and sofas. All I had in my room was the bed; everything else was gone,” he said.
John mentioned that he eventually joined his family in the Netherlands. Currently a chef, John shared more on life, standard of living and more in the Netherlands.
