Italy-based Ghanaian, Afia Pokua has stated that they are many unemployed people in Italy as there are in Ghana and advised Ghanaians against travelling if they are employed and comfortable.
Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Afia Pokua mentioned that it would be better to stay in Ghana if you have a good-paying job because it may take years to get a job abroad. She added that many people living in Italy have been jobless for a decade and are still looking.
“Italy is stressful. The only difference is the money. If you have a good job, don’t come. Usually, those with properties sell them to travel, but people have been jobless for ten to fifteen years,” Afia said on SVTV AFRICA.
Afia travelled to Italy after completing Junior High School. She spoke about getting a high school in Italy, the language and why Ghanaians only focus on jobs when they travel to Europe.
“Ghanaians here do not get better jobs here because they fail to get an education. It was tough to get a job even after school but things are changing now. It’s a problem with Ghanaians. They only focus on money,” she added.
