UK-based Ghanaian Nana Poku has stated that Ghanaians who make GHS3000 a month are poor and should leave the country if they get the chance.
In an interview on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Nana Poku indicated that an unemployed individual in the USA gets more from their government than a gainfully employed person in Ghana. He mentioned that anyone who makes below GHS5000 should leave the country.
“What are you still doing in Ghana when you make less than GHS5000 monthly? Inflation is killing the economy. For instance, if you make GHS3000 and the dollar rate is GHS10 to a dollar, then you make $300 monthly.
If you make that in the US, you’re poor. Even the unemployed benefit is more than that. So when a travel opportunity comes, leave without a doubt,” he explained.
However, Nana Poku added that they must only leave if they are assured of a working visa, at least.
“You’re better off selling coconut in Ghana than travelling to the UK without a working or stay permit. You’ll need identification for everything. You’re assured of a job if you have the permit,” he added.
