Germany-based Ghanaian Agartha Awuah revealed that she overworked herself into a coma for four months and advised others to reduce the workload to relieve stress.
In a chat on SVTV AFRICA, Agartha noted that she was too focused on her job and worked long hours which caused her health to deteriorate. Agartha mentioned that she was infected with COVID during her recovery and was admitted for about ten months.
“I listened to my sister’s advice and made my job my everything. Everyone around me knew that I never joked about my job. I had no choice but to do long hours.”
“I had an operation, and right after that, 70% of my body was not functioning. My husband quit his job to cater to me. I was in a wheelchair and eventually recovered,” Agartha disclosed.
According to Agartha, she went back to work after recovering, but “I felt pain and visited the hospital. Immediately, they put me on oxygen and confirmed I had COVID. It affected my lungs, and I went into a coma in January. I woke up in April.”
Agartha mentioned that stress from long hours of work made her condition worse. She advised others to be cautious of their job and find ways to relieve stress.
