US-based Ghanaian Vera Boadu revealed that she broke up with her husband after almost a year of marriage because they allowed too much interference from family and friends.
Speaking on SVTV AFRICA with DJ Nyaami, Vera revealed she was married at 22 and wasn’t mature enough to handle such situations. Vera indicated she could not tolerate the intrusion and gave in to separation.
“His siblings were living with us, and it was a lot. It was overbearing, so I didn’t want to move in with him. It wasn’t a good decision, and we were not mature. We wouldn’t have put ourselves in that situation if we were mature enough.
When everything ended, he said he felt pressured to marry me, but I never pressured him into marriage. His family accepted me initially, but after marriage, things changed,” she said on Daily Hustle Worldwide.
According to Vera, they did not have a court marriage, and she believes it was a good thing.
“I feel like God was telling me that it (marriage) was not a good thing. We were never supposed to sign, but we never did. So I just sent his drinks to him, but he didn’t accept them,” she added.
