A Ghana-born amateur boxer, Seth Gyimah has been nicknamed the ‘British Mike Tyson’ for his “incredible punching power.”
In an interview on SVTV AFRICA, Seth, who is professionally known as. Jackson Freezy MacBones shared the story of his determination to turn pro despite his age. According to Freezy, Mike Tyson has been a big inspiration to him.
“I can’t be like him, but I can learn something from him. His videos always encourage me to do better.”
Based in South London, Freezy worked as a kitchen porter and worked his way up to Chef at a Soho restaurant. His love for boxing always led him. However, a trainer told him, “It was not possible because of my age. It was too late.” This did not discourage him.
In 2018, Freezy had his first bout and knocked out his opponent in 25 seconds of the first round. In September 2022, the Sun reported that Freezy MacBones had 46 knockouts in 56 fights.
Many industry greats have recognised MacBones for his talent, including, Floyd Mayweather, and Tyson Fury. Legendary rapper, 50 Cent also made a social media post commending him. MacBones has met and trained with the former WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua.
MaBones made his pro debut against Chris Wood on March 10, 2023.
