France-based Ghanaian painter Kofi Yeboah has stated that skilled workers in France make more money than some corporate jobs.
Speaking on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Mr Yeboah mentioned that his mom advised him to learn a sill when he first arrived in Europe because he could not find a job in other fields. According to Kofi, he was a mechanic in Ghana but switched to painting because he could not get jobs without an education in France.
Mr Yeboah indicated that he hasn’t regretted his decision to pursue painting because he makes more money than some corporate workers in France.
“If a corporate worker makes more money than a construction worker, then the corporate worker must have been highly educated. If you only have a degree, your salary is not close to a construction worker’s salary. Aside from my salary, I can work for individuals for extra income, unlike the corporate worker.”
Mr Yeboah has been living in France for 12 years and has worked as a painter for a decade. He stated he was disappointed in his first few years in the country. Eventually, he settled into the French system nicely and is enjoying his new life.
