Ghanaian entrepreneur Boatemaa Wiredu has stated that depending on one source of income is slavery and encouraged people to start building themselves financially.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Boatemaa advised the youth to be more independent with their jobs or at least live off multiple incomes because one source will never be enough.
“We must realise that you can never succeed with a salaried job. No employer will give you enough. What are we doing? We have to do something to get more. We must start thinking because the salary is an irony of slavery. You’re a slave if you depend on salary alone,” Boatemaa said.
Moreover, the entrepreneur indicated that
Ghanaians often complain about bad governance, but they are the problem. According to her, citizens must “fix themselves. Then we can hold the leaders accountable. Otherwise, they will forever do that to us.”
If you bring me a party shirt and GHS20, but I already have some, you won’t be able to buy me (off). We dance to their tunes because we are dependent on them.
Boatemaa worked as a fashion designer for about seven years, but she put it on hold to build herself. The award-winning fashion designer currently produces hair products.
