Brazil-based Ghanaian Collins Asare has disclosed that he will never leave Brazil for the United States because the latter is no better than Brazil.
In a chat on Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, Collins mentioned that as a citizen, he can make up to GHS24,000 doing multiple jobs. Besides the monetary value, he has built a family in Brazil and has no reason to make a risky journey.
“Those who pass through Brazil to the US must stop. They should stay in the country and get used to the system here. I have Indian friends who make about GHS24K in a month.
I can make the same amount because I’m a citizen and don’t have one job. You need to have multiple sources of income. You can maintain one, but with the taxes and all, you need multiple jobs,” he said on SVTV AFRICA.
According to Collins, he went to Brazil with the plan of travelling to the USA. However, he decided to settle there after he met his Brazilian wife.
Collins compared the minimum wage of Brazil to Ghanas’ and added that he is better off in the South American country.
“The minimum wage here is GHS4,200. I’m not going to stay anywhere else. The next time I’m in Ghana, I’m running for the presidency.”
