Italy-based Ghanaian Razak Adam narrated a funny but horrifying journey from Ghana through Libya to Italy, revealing how travellers were sold and stayed there for three months.
In an exclusive interview on Daily Hustle Worldwide with DJ Nyaami, Razak stated that he thought the terrifying part of the journey was over until they arrived in Libya, where other Ghanaians sold them to Libya natives.
“It was my first time in Libya. We arrived in the evening. God will punish many people. Ghanaians and Nigerians were working for Libyans. They acted like they were helping us, but it was all a lie. They sold about 500 of us to the Libyans. We thought our brother was helping us,” he said on SVTV AFRICA.
According to Razak, a woman was in charge of the operation and asked the travellers to call their families to send them money. He mentioned that many of them paid the amount and were eventually released, but “four of us had no one to call. So they beat us up severely.”
“I stayed there for about three months, and they moved us to work on an animal farm for weeks. Eventually, I fled from the farm and met up with an uncle in Tripoli.”
Speaking about his reason for leaving Ghana, Razak indicated that he had no job or means of survival in Ghana and jumped at an option to travel abroad.
Razak narrated more about how he crossed the Mediterranean Sea to Europe.
