Young shoemaker Benedicta Ghansah has stated that she is as confident about her work as gays are in an anti-LGBTQ country.
Being in a male-dominated industry, Benedicta mentioned that many people often stare at her while working, making her proud.
In an interview on Daily Hustle, Benedicta told DJ Nyaami that “people sometimes park their cars and stare at me. I get shy, but I tell myself that they’re staring because they like what I’m doing. Many people have not seen a young girl making footwear. I’m happy when they stare.”
Benedicta mentioned that she loves to make footwear and started while in high school. According to Benedicta, she loves her job and is very confident about it. She likened her confidence to that of LGBTQI members who live in a country that is against activities.
Moreover, the CEO of the start-up, Benedict GH Prefect Work, revealed that her dream is to help the youth out of unemployment. She believes they must learn a skill even if they work an office job.
“I want to set up a factory and teach the youth how to do this. We can’t wait on the government to give out jobs. We must also look out for ways to make money. There are many jobs in Ghana. You just need to be prayerful and look out for ways to use the skill you have,” she disclosed.
