Elizabeth Atiako has been suffering from an undiagnosed condition for over a decade. According to her mother, it began while writing her final exams in Senior High School.
Speaking on SVTV Africa, Madam Lydia mentioned that the first diagnosis they got from a hospital was malaria but the symptoms over time proved differently.
“I took her to Ankaful (psychiatric hospital) because she often shouted without reason. But whenever drugs were administered, her tongue would pull out while she spun continuously. So I stopped,” Madam Lydia told DJ Nyaami.
Viewers of SVTV Africa, through its Foundation, have supported Elizabeth with GHS3500 for a medical examination and a proper diagnosis.
Elizabeth’s classmate received the donation on her behalf and expressed gratitude for the support.
“Thank all those who supported her. We will make sure she gets the help she needs. Thank you and your team for accepting to interview her because it’s been ten years. May God bless all those who supported this,” her classmate said.
