SVTV Africa Foundation has granted the wish of a single mother of seven, Yaa Dufie, who works as a bus conductor to support her children.
According to Dufie, her husband passed away soon after they moved to the capital from Kumasi. She added that due to her eldest child’s education, she has been unable to rent a room.
After the interview, patrons of the foundation supported her with GHS2000 and also paid for a rented apartment for her to stay in with her children.
“It is a chamber and hall self-contained for two years, but one year has been paid already, and the rest will be paid soon. I want to stop working as a mate because it was the only means of serving, but it is tough, especially for a woman,” she disclosed.
Yaa Dufie shared her excitement and gratitude to the Foundation team and its patrons.
“I want to say thank you for the support. The room has everything, kitchen, bathroom inside. I’m very grateful for this because I would not have received it but for the interview,” Yaa added.
