22-year-old Eric Mensah has disclosed that the security company he works for fired him after his interview on SVTV Africa.
In his initial interview, Eric revealed that the company paid him GHs400 monthly. As a result, he eats Gari daily to be able to save some money. Eric can’t afford to eat twice a day. Moreover, he cannot afford to rent a room in Accra with his Ghs400 monthly salary. As a result, he sleeps in a corridor at his workplace.
However, the owner of the house he guards informed his security company about his interview and sabotaged him. After the first interview, patrons of the SVTV Africa Foundation supported him with a Ghs1000. According to Eric, he used the money to fix a kiosk as a temporary home.
In a recent interview with DJ Nyaami, Eric disclosed that the company fired him upon the house owner’s request. Moreover, he has a new job in the same field that pays Ghs500, but the job provides food.
“He sacked me right after the second interview. The company told me that he wanted me fired. My new job comes with food, and I have a place to sleep now, so it is better than the previous one,” Eric said.
A follower of SVTV Africa saw his interview and sent him Ghs1000. Eric expressed gratitude for the support from SVTV Africa Foundation.
