US-based Ghanaian Frank Asamoah has mentioned that he invested thousands of dollars in a start-up company in Ghana, but it never began operation due to the lack of a security license.
In an interview on Daily Hustle Worldwide, Mr Frank revealed that his wish was to establish a security company that would provide electronic security, fire protection and alarm monitoring services to homes and businesses.
However, he could not operate his dreams because the requirements that the Ghana Police Service demanded were exhaustive. Frank disclosed that he fell ill and was admitted to the hospital immediately when he got to the US.
“The Ghana Police told me I needed a security license, but it would take about three years to get. I only needed an audience with them to understand the concept, but it never happened.
I rented office space for three years and set it up for about 150,000 dollars. I came to Ghana four times last year and twice this year to establish it.
According to Mr Asamoah, the application form for the security license included his high school index number and his girlfriend’s name.
“I got the form from the Ministry of Interior, and they asked for my index number. I completed school forty years ago. How will I still remember my index number? They even asked for my girlfriends’ names,” he said on SVTV Africa.
Frank mentioned that he was admitted to the hospital immediately after he landed in the US due to the stress he went through in Ghana.
