Ghanaian artiste Congo Blaze has revealed that he fell into depression after his divorce; she was tired of waiting for him to ‘blow’ as an artiste.
According to Congo, his wife believed in his craft but had to go on without him because their finances weren’t stable. Speaking on SVTV Africa, Congo Blaze mentioned that he fell into a depression soon after their divorce.
“My ex-wife was hoping for the best, but the best was not coming. So she felt she wanted to live her life, you know our ladies. My ex-wife told me that ‘you are a star, but you are not making it. I thought you’d have made it by now.’ That is what led to my depression. It messed me up, but I was able to control myself by God’s grace.”
Moreover, Congo Blaze indicated that despite still being an up-and-coming artiste, he believes that blowing up in the music industry is all about timing. Congo Blaze, however, added that he needs investors to make it.
“It hurts when you bring out good music, and people don’t support it. I watch MTV Base, and the songs are no different from mine. All I lack is an investor. I’ve been in the industry for ten years, so I make good music, and I put my all into it,” Congo told DJ Nyaami.
Born Cheri Godson Isako to a Ghanaian mother and a Congolese father, Blaze moved to Ghana for his education.
Congo Blaze is currently out with a single ‘holiday’ available on all streaming platforms.
