Actress and student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Sabina Dzifa, has stated that her childhood dream was to become a journalist, but recently lost interest after enrolling in the institute.
In a chat on SVTV Africa, Sabina indicated that her focus shifted from journalism in high school when she began acting in school plays. However, she had some interest in the media field until recently.
“(Journalism) was my initial plan, but I began acting in JHS. So my interest shifted from journalism to acting, and I focused more on that. I’m still at GIJ, but I don’t know if I’ll practice it because I’ve lost interest in it.
I still want to get the degree, but I have invested more into acting. That’s why my focus has shifted. I want to finish hard because I will definitely need it in the future.”
Moreover, the actress indicated that once she becomes a successful actress, hosting a TV show will be easier. She cited Nana Ama McBrown as an example stating that her popularity is a plus.
“If I can strike more on the acting field, it will be easier to practice journalism.”
According to the actress, she has been an actress for about eight years. She added that she spent most of her early years of acting learning on the job.
Speaking about some of her favourite actors, Sabina mentioned Hollywood actress Taraji P. Henson and Ghanaian actresses Jackie Appiah and Nana Ama McBrown.
