Ghanaian rapper and fast-rising tiktoker Matthew Amartey Williams, AKA Oklay, has shared one of his worst experiences as an Uber driver.
Speaking on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Oklay disclosed that he was arrested and detained over the weekend for using a stolen pizza coupon.
According to Oklay, a rider gifted him pizza coupons after the ride as a form of appreciation, but it was stolen property.
“I picked up a guy at a pizza joint, and he gave me some pizza coupons after the ride. He told me I could use the coupon at any of the branches. I visited one of the branches with the coupons, but they kept me waiting for an hour.
Meanwhile, they called the police, and I was sent to the station. According to the police, the guy was an employee who stole money and coupons before resigning. They had been looking for him for five months,” he revealed.
Oklay indicated that he was detained for three days because he was arrested on a weekend. On Monday, he led the police to Nanakrom; where he dropped off the rider.
“But no one knew him. So they released me later. I’ve experienced many other situations as well. It was a lesson, and I learnt from it,” Oklay added.
