CEO of Lex Entertainment Ltd, Naana Lexis Opoku-Agyemang, has recounted a bitter experience after her parent’s separation.
In an interview on SVTV Africa with DJ Nyaami, Naana revealed that she stays in contact with her father. However, the relationship expected of a father and a daughter is nonexistent. According to Lexis, her father blocked her on social media for about a year after making efforts to meet him.
“Every child wants to be close to their dad. I travelled to South Africa to see him and listen to his side of the story. I get into the country, but he doesn’t want to see me. He’s casting insinuations. My father told me he would shoot me when he sees me,” Naana recounted.
According to the life coach, she reported the incident to her grandmother (father’s mother) and got the reason for her father’s threatening remarks.
“My father told my grandmother that he said it out of anger. He knew that I was coming and he even promised to buy me the ticket, but it never came. So I bought the ticket myself because I wanted to see him. That is why he was angered,” she added.
Speaking on the effects of her relationship with her father, Naana Lexis mentioned that it made her reserved and unwilling to take risks. Naana disclosed that her father named her after an active political figure in Ghana.
Miss Opoku-Agyemang is also a mental health advocate. She takes it as a social responsibility to educate high school students, especially on the stigma attached to mental health.
