Belgium-based Ghanaian blogger Kweku Frimpong known on social media as Old Borga is claiming that some Ghanaian pastors pay bloggers to defend them.
In a chat on SVTV Africa, Old Borga mentioned that some bloggers also intentionally praise certain pastors for monetary favours. According to him, these pastors befriend them and pay them to defend or sing their praises.
“When a pastor’s issue comes up, the blogger defends him. He wins his favour, gives him money and becomes the pastor’s blogger. Next time, the pastor will call the blogger to say stuff about him. It’s the same with politicians,” he alleged.
Old Borga is known for commenting or reacting to popular videos, especially from pastors. One of these pastors is Reverend Owusu Bempa. Old Borga revealed that he signed an agreement with Rev. Owusu Bempa stating that he must never talk about him again.
“But I did it again. Eventually, Rev. Owusu’s people reported my page and had it blocked. We make such videos because that is what the audience wants, but it has affected me.
Now, I post educative videos, and they don’t watch or share because it is not controversial. It has become difficult for me, but I am not going back to such content anymore even though that is what the audience wants,” Old Borga told DJ Nyaami.
