Ghanaian lady Mariam Iddrisu has stated that some Ghanaian women often abort babies to avoid being deported from Dubai.

In a conversation on SVTV Africa, Mariam revealed that some African women sell their bodies for food, but they abort the babies after they conceive. According to Mariam, immigrant babies are undocumented while the mothers face deportation.

“If a woman becomes pregnant through prostitution, she will deliver, but they will take the baby and deport the mother. It has caused the prices of abortion pills to go up. They sell it at 700 dirhams which is Ghs1400. It has become a big business in Dubai.”

Moreover, Miriam indicated that many people sleep on the streets of Dubai. Many also suffer from ulcers due to intense hunger. As a result, some women give their bodies to Arab men for 20 Dirhams (Ghs40).

“Ghanaian women have become cheap in Dubai. They beg the Arabs to have sex with them for 20 Dirhams for food. In Ghana, women flirt with men, but in Dubai, these women pray for men to ask them out. They have sex with them on bunk beds with their roommates present,” she disclosed.

According to reports, extramarital sex was illegal under the UAE’s Islamic laws until November 2020 to make the country more appealing to Westerners.

However, some hospitals still inform the police when unmarried women give birth. Moreover, the newborns are denied birth certificates.
