Saudi Arabia-based Ghanaian Ahmed Mohammed has revealed that an agent duped him into paying ₵27,000 for travel processing documents to Canada.
Ahmed revealed that he was among sixty-five people hustled by the ‘connection man.’ According to Ahmed, the agent charged him GHS45,000 for the service, and he paid more than half of the fee.
“He told me to pay the other half when the visa is secured. I waited for six months, but no information came from him. When I called him, he said that the others had not paid yet. They needed to pay up ₵25,000 for the visa to go through,” he said on Daily Hustle Worldwide on SVTV Africa.
Ahmed indicated that he noticed a foul play and tricked the agent into meeting up with him, but his secretary came in his stead.
“I told him that I’ll pay the Ghs25,000. We decided o where to meet, but he did not come. My friends and I took him to the police headquarters because we had filed a complaint. He was wanted by the police already,” he added.
According to Ahmed, the police officers instructed them to sell the suspect’s car and share the money among the victims present.
“We sold it for less than GHS30K. I was the one who got more because I brought him. Some got about GHS600.”
