Ghanaians based in the UK, Samuel Adu Gyamfi, has encouraged the government to implement a two-child policy to make it easier for parents to cater to their needs.
In a chat on ‘Daily Hustle Worldwide,’ Samuel indicated that in the UK, the government supports children with some financial aid. However, Ghanaian parents do not receive such, hence the proposition.
“The government in the UK makes sure that the father takes responsibility for the child and gives them financial support. But it’s not the same in Ghana.
It doesn’t make sense for women to bear many children, knowing that their partners can’t cater to them. It would be better if we only married one and give birth to two or three at least,” he explained.
He also advised young men to keep to one woman because it gives them peace and restricts them from giving birth to many children.
“I have six children, it’s good, but it doesn’t help if you look at it well. Two or three is better,” he added.
Samuel also spoke about working conditions in the UK. According to Samuel, he makes money as a barber in Reading, Berkshire. He also added that barbers are unappreciated in Ghana, unlike in Europe.
