Popular Fante kenkey seller Kofi Nyarko has received over GHS3000 and a tricycle ‘aboboya’ after an interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa.
On March 9, the Tema-based kenkey seller told DJ Nyaami that some Ghanaians abroad sent him money while another gave GHS2000 and the tricycle. He expressed his profound gratitude to the charitable people and SVTV Africa for the opportunity.
“May God bless her and give her long life. I’ve never met anyone like her in my life. She encouraged me and offered to manage my business for me. A Ghanaian in Ghana also sent me GHS200 and some clothes.
If I didn’t meet you for this interview, I don’t know where I would be, so God bless you too,” he said.
Kofi Kenkey, as he is widely known, shared his story a few weeks ago. He stated why he decided to sell kenkey and what people say to him. According to him, three ladies told him that stealing would be better than selling Fante kenkey.
