Employment coach and entrepreneur, Ekow Eshun believes that the education system is archaic and the cause of the high unemployment rate in the country.
According to Mr Eshun, most of the Ghanaian youth lack creativity due to the outdated system of education. He disclosed that it needs to be changed for the children to choose what they prefer to study rather than learning ‘unnecessary subjects’ at the SHS level.
“All we know is go to SHS and the university to work in the office. It is outdated. We need to change our education system unless you want to become a nurse, doctor etc and create an entrepreneurship course,” Mr Eshun said in an interview on SVTV Africa.
He encouraged the youth to make money or start a business with what they possess. Ekow made reference to socialite Hajia Bintu and footballer, Cristiana Ronaldo.
“She is using what she has and now Hajia has a million followers on tiktok. Those who bash her are wrong. Ronald is also using his leg to make money. People are making money on social media. Social media is the new world. You have a smartphone, why don’t you use it to make money,” he quizzed.
