Ghanaian actress, Dorcas Anagli has reiterated that depending on the movie industry alone will not make one successful.
Speaking with DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa, Dorcas stated that as an actor or actress they must work on themselves to attract more contracts.
“Most Ghanaians do not value actresses and so the leaders do not invest or sponsor the arts. As an actress, you have to brand yourself in a way that will attract some businesses so that you can be able to build yourself in the industry,” she said.
Moreover, Dorcas indicated that it is nearly impossible to depend solely on the industry as a creative person.
“If you depend on the industry alone, you might hate acting,” Dorcas added.
Aside from acting, Dorcas is learning to become a makeup artist. She concluded that while pursuing her dreams, “I will be able to make money from the skill I’ve acquired.”
