1-year-old hole in heart patient, Stephen York is likely to lose his life if he is not operated on urgently.
Mother of little Stephen, Doreen revealed that a few weeks after he was born, she realised that Stephen’s breathing was faster than usual. However, she did not think anything of it.
“Initially, the doctors thought it was pneumonia but it turned out to be a hole in heart. We were transferred to Korle Bu hospital later and that’s where they told me that he needed surgery.
The doctor said that he may play around but I may lose him anytime so the earlier the better. He said the cost of the surgery is 6000 dollars,” Doreen said.
According to her, they have been able to raise 3,000 cedis with support from friends. Her husband is a driver but “he doesn’t earn enough. That is why I am begging for support to save my son’s life.”
