CEO of online shop Ghanamart, John Kobina Taylor has disclosed that a delivery guy from his company was arrested because the customer thought it was a scam.
Ghanamart is an online supermarket that has made it easier for Ghanaians and none Ghanaians abroad to buy groceries, airtime and pay bills for family and loved ones in Ghana.
According to him, delivery service in Ghana has become a big challenge because most Ghanaians have been defrauded or do not want to be defrauded. As a result, delivering to customers here means the recipient must be aware though the package may be a surprise.
”My delivery guys called a recipient once and since he was expecting a package, he gave them a wrong address and got them arrested. We had to call the sender to verify first.
So now we ask the sender to tell the recipient to expect a package because people are scared of being scammed,” Mr Taylor told DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa.
He added that Ghanamart only makes deliveries in Ghana. However, a Ghanaian can buy from Ghanamart only with a visa card.
